Learning about nature at the Sooky Goldman Nature Center
7/23 – 7/29
WDCP Best of LA
There is plenty to keep your outdoor fun calendar full – and even overflowing!
Wednesday 7/23 at 7pm they will be hosting their weekly Franklin Family Night at the Sooky Goldman Nature Center where you can hear stories, sing and (best of all) roast marshmallows around a campfire.
Thursday 7/24 head out to Rancho Santa Ana Botanical Garden for their weekly “Musical Evenings in the Garden” where you can enjoy music and local food in the garden from 7 to 8:30 pm.
Saturday 7/26 at 8am you can ramble on a trail while learning about our feathered friends with a guided walk to see the Morning Birds of Franklin Canyon. Afterwards, you can learn how to be eco-friendly with a hands-on, full of fun family nature day at Rancho Sierra Vista from 2pm – 6pm.
Sunday 7/27 you can visit the Kid’s Adventure Garden which boasts a treehouse, carnivorous plants, and a butterfly garden at the Conejo Valley Botanic Gardens from 11am – 3pm. If you are looking for a more intensive nature experience for your child send them to a week-long Summer Zoo Camp at the LA Zoo. There are a variety of programs for a variety of ages.
Remember: you can always go to your local park, beach, or mountains and create your own adventure!
